Regular Season Round 12: Triglav - Jezica 83-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kranj. Second ranked Triglav faced 4th ranked Jezica. Host Triglav (10-2) defeated guests from Ljubljana (6-6) 83-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Jezica. The game was mostly controlled by Triglav. Jezica managed to win third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Triglav outrebounded Jezica 43-17 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bosnian Lejla Omerbasic (182-97) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Maja Jakobcic (184-97) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Sara Meden (171-94) who recorded 25 points and guard Sasa Ziherl (174-92) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Triglav have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Celje. Jezica at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Triglav are looking forward to face Grosbasket (#7) in Grosuplje in the next round where they are favorite. Jezica will play at home against Konjice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
