Regular Season Round 12: Flames - BBU S. 104-80

Everything could happen in Vienna at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Flames and 10th ranked BBU had identical 5-6 record. This time Flames used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Salzburg 104-80 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Flames. BBU managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by BBU's players. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Point guard Tobias Stadelmann (180-88) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Greek guard Dimitris Mouratoglou (197-84) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Flames maintains sixth position with 6-6 record, which they share with Piraten. BBU lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Mustangs. Flames will meet Mustangs (#9) in the next round. BBU will play against Deutsch-Wagram and hope to secure a win.
