Regular Season Round 14: Rist Wedel - Muenster 97-95

The most exciting game of round 14 in the ProB took place in Wedel. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Muenster (8-6) to first ranked SC Rist Wedel (10-4) 97-95 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Muenster. They outrebounded Muenster 40-28 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. SC Rist Wedel looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 36 personal fouls committed by Muenster helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lars Kamp (187-96) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Jojo Cooper (183-95, college: Wagner) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and American-Spanish guard Marco Porcher-Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) scored 26 points. Four SC Rist Wedel and five Muenster players scored in double figures. Muenster's coach Phillip Kappenstein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SC Rist Wedel have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 10-4 record. Newly promoted Muenster keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. SC Rist Wedel are looking forward to face SSV Lok Bernau (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Muenster will play against Iserlohn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
