Regular Season Round 16: Hanau - Karlsruhe PS 79-80

Sixteenth-ranked White Wings (3-13) made lots of trouble for tenth ranked Lions (8-8) in Hanau. The visitors from Karlsruhe managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely White Wings outrebounded Lions 36-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. DR Congolese-French point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Luquon Choice (190-93, college: Lincoln Memorial) replied with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Dorian Pinson (196-96, college: Lincoln Memorial) added 15 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for White Wings. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lions have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. White Wings lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Lions will play against Schalke (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. White Wings will play against Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck and hope to get back on the winning track.
