Regular Season Round 12: Lions - Mustangs 85-63

Rather expected game in Dornbirn where 7th ranked Mustangs (5-7) were crushed by fifth ranked Lions (8-4) 85-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lions. Mustangs managed to win third quarter 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mustangs 42-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish guard Ander Arruti (191-90) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Spanish forward Javier Medori (202-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Four Lions players scored in double figures. Coach Borja San Miguel's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Stefan Obermann (185-93) who recorded 21 points and Czech center Ivo Prachar (210-82) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Lions have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Mustangs dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with BBU S.. Lions will meet higher ranked Raiders (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Mustangs will play against Flames (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
