Nevezis (#9) forced the game against Prienu Skycop (#8) into a double-overtime, but lost by three points 93-96 on Saturday night. Nevezis trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-12 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually double-overtime period 13-18. Prienu Skycop made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Nevezis was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (188-91, agency: Players Group) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Adonte Parker (186-89, college: Dayton) added 26 points in the effort for Nevezis. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Prienu Skycop maintains eighth place with 5-10 record. Nevezis lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Prienu Skycop will face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
