Regular Season Round 13: Mardin BSB - Yalova Vip 73-72

Thirteenth-ranked Yalova Vip (3-10) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Mardin BSB (8-5) on Saturday. Mardin BSB managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Mardin BSB forced 19 Yalova Vip turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American power forward Chandra Harris (185-89, college: Georgia St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Nazli Guler (184-82, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) produced 41 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Gulizar Sezer (-78, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 3 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mardin BSB. They moved-up to sixth place. Yalova Vip at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Mersin Gelisim. Mardin BSB will meet Istanbulgucu (#8) on the road in the next round. Yalova Vip will play against Bursa BSB (#7) and hope to secure a win.
