Regular Season Round 10: Mersin BSB - Adana Basket 89-72

Adana Basket (3-7) recorded its seventh loss on the court of first ranked Mersin BSB on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Mersin BSB 89-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Adana Basket. Mersin BSB made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Adana Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Lithuanian power forward Gintare Petronyte (196-89) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian swingman Sasa Cadjo (178-89) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mersin BSB players scored in double figures. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Sanem Zeren (178-89, agency: FlyBasketball) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Mersin BSB went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Canik Belediye. Newly promoted Adana Basket still keeps top place with seven games lost. Mersin BSB is looking forward to face higher ranked Galatasaray (#5) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Adana Basket's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Adana Botas.
