Regular Season Round 12: Tofas - Anadolu Efes 81-93

An interesting game for Anadolu Efes (8-3) which played road game in Bursa against second-best Tofas (8-4). Third ranked Anadolu Efes managed to get a 12-point victory 93-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Anadolu Efes players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists and Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who added 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) with 15 points and U.S. Virgin Islands-Guyanese center Frank Elegar (208-86, college: Drexel) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Anadolu Efes and four Tofas players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Turk Telekom. Tofas at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Anadolu Efes will play against Pinar Karsiyaka (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tofas will play against Acibadem (#8) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
