Thirteenth-ranked Afyon Bld (3-8) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Turk Telekom (8-3) in Afyonkarahisar. The visitors from Ankara managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Afyon Bld. The best player for the winners was American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 31 points. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 7 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: BeoBasket) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Turk Telekom have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Afyon Bld at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be Galatasaray (#5) in Istanbul. Afyon Bld will play on the road against Buyukcekmece (#10) and hope to win that game.
