Regular Season Round 16: Hamburg - Nuernberg 75-69
Date: December 23, 2018
Very predictable result when second ranked Hamburg (11-4) beat at home 10th ranked Nuernberg (7-7) 75-69. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by naturalized Afghani point guard Achmadschah Zazai (177-86) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 assists and Canadian guard Tevonn Walker (188-93, college: Valparaiso) supported him with 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Even 16 points and 6 assists by American guard Jackson Kent (201-93, college: JMU) did not help to save the game for Nuernberg. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Hamburg maintains second position with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Chemnitz. Nuernberg at the other side keeps the tenth place with seven games lost. Hamburg's next round opponent will be Gladiators (#6) in Trier. Nuernberg will play at home against Walter Tigers (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
