Fifth-ranked Istanbul BBSK (5-8) used its home court advantage to challenge leader Banvit (11-0) on Sunday. The visitors managed to secure only three-point victory 65-62. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Istanbul BBSK. 27 personal fouls committed by Istanbul BBSK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Sadik Kabaca (208-0) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Ege-Aron Kucukduman (-0) answered with 19 points and Swedish forward Olle Stumer (203-0) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul BBSK. Banvit have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Istanbul BBSK at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bahcehir. Banvit is looking forward to face Besiktas (#5) in Istanbul in the next round. Istanbul BBSK will play against Gaziantep and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
