Fourteenth-ranked BG Goettingen (4-8) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Brose Baskets (9-2) on Wednesday. The visitors from Bamberg managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was American Augustine Rubit (200-89, college: S.Alabama) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Montenegrin point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) who recorded 19 points and 9 assists and his fellow American import Darius Carter (201-92, college: Wichita St.) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Brose Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with EWE Baskets and ALBA. BG Goettingen lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Brose Baskets will meet at home league's leader Bayern Muenchen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BG Goettingen will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#6) and hope to secure a win.
