Regular Season Round 13: Arkadia - Timberwolves 78-77

The most exciting game of round 13 in the A Bundesliga took place in Traiskirchen. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Timberwolves (7-6) to third ranked Arkadia Lions (9-4) 78-77 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Timberwolves. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Timberwolves won fourth quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Timberwolves 39-28 including 24 on the defensive glass. Arkadia Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International center Jozo Rados (208-93) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists. Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Croatian guard Petar Cosic (183-85, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Four Timberwolves players scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-4 record behind leader Gmunden, which they share with Kapfenberg. Newly promoted Timberwolves keep the sixth position with six games lost. Arkadia Lions is looking forward to face league's leader Gmunden Swans on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timberwolves will play against Dukes (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
