A very interesting game took place in Jena. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 15th ranked Science City Jena (3-8) to ninth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (6-5) 91-89 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. EnBW Ludwigsburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Science City Jena helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Kelan Martin (201-95, college: Butler) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized American Adam Waleskowski (203-82, college: Florida St.) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Lithuanian guard Martynas Mazeika (192-85, agency: Interperformances) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) added 18 points in the effort for Science City Jena. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to seventh place. Science City Jena lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg's next round opponent will be Giessen 46ers (#9) at home. Science City Jena will play against Braunschweig (#8) and hope to win that game.
