Regular Season Round 16: Rytas - Dzukija 89-79

Very expected game in Vilnius where 7th ranked Dzukija (6-10) was defeated by third ranked Rytas (12-4) 89-79 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Rytas. Dzukija managed to win fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. American DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) fired 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Ken Brown (180-89, college: Philander Smith, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 17 points and 6 assists and the former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rytas maintains third position with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Dzukija lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Rytas will meet Juventus (#6) in the next round. Dzukija will play against Siauliai and hope to secure a win.
