Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Socar Petkim and 9th ranked Artvin had identical 5-6 record. This time Socar Petkim used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from 93-85 on Friday night. Socar Petkim dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Artvin's 22 and made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Artvin 39-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Markus Kennedy (206-91, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) who added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) with 39 points (!!!) and 4 steals and guard Ozgur Sahin (190-93) scored 18 points. Socar Petkim have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Artvin dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Yeni Mamak. Socar Petkim will meet at home higher ranked Duzce Belediye (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Artvin will play against Akhisar Bld (#6) and hope to secure a win.
