Regular Season Round 13: Vechta - Goettingen 82-60

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (8-5) outleveled at home 14th ranked BG Goettingen (4-9) 82-60 on Saturday. SC Rasta Vechta made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 BG Goettingen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Joshua Young (185-88, college: Drake) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Austin Hollins (196-91, college: Minnesota) chipped in 21 points. At the losing side point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) responded with 10 points and forward Derek Willis (206-95, college: Kentucky) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for SC Rasta Vechta. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta maintains sixth place with 8-5 record. BG Goettingen lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will meet Science City Jena (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Goettingen will play against Braunschweig and hope to secure a win.
