No shocking result in a game when second ranked ALBA Berlin (10-2) defeated on the road 16th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-10) 94-86 on Saturday. ALBA Berlin made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. ALBA Berlin outrebounded Eisbaeren Bremerhaven 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for ALBA Berlin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. International point guard Joshiko Saibou (187-90) stepped up and scored 21 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and Cameroonian center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. ALBA Berlin's coach Garcia Aito Reneses used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) responded with 29 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Elston Turner (195-90, college: Texas A&M) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Five ALBA Berlin and four Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for ALBA Berlin. They maintain second place with 10-2 record having four points less than leader B.Muenchen, which they share with EWE Baskets. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with ten games lost. ALBA Berlin will meet at home Mitteldeutscher BC (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and hope to secure a win.
