Regular Season Round 15: Sibiu - Oradea 97-81

The game between Top Four teams took place in Sibiu. First ranked host Sibiu (10-2) defeated 3rd placed Oradea (8-4) 97-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Oradea. The game was mostly controlled by Sibiu. Oradea was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Sibiu looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Oradea's players. It was a great evening for American-German forward Isaiah Philmore (203-89, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St., agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 17 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Sibiu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Dragan Zekovic (209-87, agency: BeoBasket) with 30 points and American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) scored 17 points. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sibiu. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Defending champion Oradea dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Sibiu will face Steaua B. (#7) in Bucuresti in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Oradea will play on the road against the league's second-placed Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
