Regular Season Round 11: Sencur Gor. - Ilirija 81-85

Ilirija's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after nine consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kranj, where they defeated Sencur Gor. (5-6) 85-81 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sencur Gor. won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Joshua Heath (180-94, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import swingman LD Williams (193-88, college: Wake Forest) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. The former international power forward Dino Muric (201-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and Bosnian forward Ramo Rizvic (203-87) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Sencur Gor. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ilirija maintains tenth place with 1-9 record. Loser Sencur Gor. dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Rogaska and Sentjur. Ilirija will meet at home higher ranked Krka (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sencur Gor. will play against Rogaska in Rogaska Slatina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
