Regular Season Round 13: Sakarya BSB - Banvit BK 67-75

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Banvit (3-9) defeated on the road 12th ranked Sakarya BSB (4-8) 75-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sakarya BSB 40-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. American center Jordan Morgan (203-91, college: Michigan) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) chipped in 16 points. Five Banvit players scored in double figures. American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) produced 12 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Safak Edge (188-92, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banvit maintains fourteenth place with 3-9 record. Sakarya BSB lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Afyon. Banvit will meet at home league's leader Fenerbahce in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sakarya BSB will play against Besiktas (#6) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
