The game had a very big importance for first-ranked Adana Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Adana Basket defeated 10th ranked Canik Belediye in Samsun 96-85. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Adana Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Canik Belediye's 42 and made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Adana Basket forced 20 Canik Belediye turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds and Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel, agency: FlyBasketball) who added 25 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Adana Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and her fellow American import center Kai James (196-95, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with defeated Canik Belediye. Canik Belediye lost fifth consecutive game. Canik Belediye will play next round against Galatasaray trying to get back on the winning streak. Adana Basket will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Besiktas in Istanbul.
