Very important is a home loss of third ranked Darussafaka (12-2) against fourth ranked TED Ankara (8-6) on Sunday night. Host Darussafaka was defeated by TED Ankara in a tough game in Istanbul 71-80. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Darussafaka. TED Ankara had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for center Cihat Dalgali (205-1) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Emir Buyukhanli (197-1) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. Guard Mert Akay (198-0) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Engin Kalkan (203-0) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Darussafaka in the defeat. Darussafaka's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. TED Ankara maintains fourth place with 8-6 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. TED Ankara's next round opponent will be league's leader Banvit and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Darussafaka will play against the league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
