Regular Season Round 13: Fenerbahce - Darussafaka 91-61

BSL top team - Fenerbahce (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Darussafaka (5-7) in Istanbul 91-61. Fenerbahce made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Italian forward Luigi Datome (203-87) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 steals for the winners and Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeremy Evans (206-87, college: W.Kentucky) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-1 record. Darussafaka lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Buyukcekmece. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Banvit (#14) in Balikesir in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Darussafaka will play at home against Turk Telekom (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
