Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Anadolu Efes (#1) and Arel Univ (#8). Anadolu Efes (13-0) crushed visiting Arel Univ (3-10) by 63 points 117-54. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Arel Univ's 22. Anadolu Efes forced 26 Arel Univ turnovers and outrebounded them 60-19 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Arel Univ's players. It was a great evening for forward Eren Has (201-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Omer-Can Ilyasoglu (193-1) helped adding 11 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Emincan Inan (196-0) with 19 points and Safak Yurdakulu (-1) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Anadolu Efes. They maintain first place with 13-0 record, which they share with Banvit. Loser Arel Univ keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Anadolu Efes' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
