Rather predictable result in Istanbul where sixth ranked Besiktas (6-8) outscored 8th ranked Gaziantep (4-9) 86-66 on Sunday. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gaziantep's 32. Besiktas forced 21 Gaziantep turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Ege Sun (-0) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Can Turgut (198-0) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Can Koc (-0) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Yunus Erenoglu (-0) added 12 points, 10 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Besiktas maintains sixth place with 6-8 record. Gaziantep lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Besiktas will face Selcuklu (#10) in the next round. Gaziantep will play against Adatip Sakarya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
