Regular Season Round 14: Vaerlose - Wolfpack/BMS 93-84

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vaerlose. Third ranked Vaerlose faced second-ranked BMS Skovlunde. Host Vaerlose (3-11) defeated guests from Skovlunde (3-8) 93-84. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 21-16 last quarter charge of BMS Skovlunde cut the lead to 93-84 at the end of the game. Vaerlose forced 22 BMS Skovlunde turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. BMS Skovlunde was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Austin Pope (198-94, college: Chaminade) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Forward Richard Granberry (203-93, college: Virginia St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Center Deionte Simmons (205-96, college: Chicago St.) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and point guard Austin Waddoups (188-93, college: Salt Lake CC, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 22 points and 4 assists in the effort for BMS Skovlunde. Four BMS Skovlunde players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Vaerlose maintains third position with 3-11 record having ten points less than leader EBAA. BMS Skovlunde lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with eight games lost. Vaerlose will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BMS Skovlunde will play on the road against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
