UBSC Graz (4-11) outlasted Hallmann (7-8) in overtime by four points 76-72 on Thursday night. The game took place in Vienna. But the guests from Graz were better at the end. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hallmann. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 20-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-4. UBSC Graz dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hallmann's 38. The best player for the winners was Cypriot center CJ Turman (206-95, college: Florida Atlantic) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international Anton Maresch (191-91) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 28 points and American power forward David Haughton (198-91, college: Purchase) added 16 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UBSC Graz maintains ninth place with 4-11 record. Loser Hallmann dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Timberwolves. UBSC Graz will meet bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) on the road in the next round. Hallmann will play against Arkadia Lions (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
