There was no surprise in Istanbul where 13th ranked Sakarya BSB (4-9) was defeated by sixth ranked Besiktas (8-5) 77-65 on Saturday. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sakarya BSB's 28. The best player for the winners was American guard Jason Rich (191-86) who scored 22 points. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) chipped in 18 points. DR Congolese forward Junior Etou (203-94, college: Tulsa) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Mitchell Wilbekin (188-94, college: Wake Forest) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. They have an impressive five-game winning streak. Besiktas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Galatasaray and Tofas. Sakarya BSB lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Besiktas will face Tofas (#4) in Bursa in the next round. Sakarya BSB will play on the road against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
