Fifteenth-ranked KTU (4-20) made lots of trouble for second ranked Palanga (16-7) in Kaunas. The visitors from Palanga managed to secure only three-point victory 100-97. However their fans expected much easier game. Palanga made 32-of-36 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Palanga outrebounded KTU 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. KTU was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jalen Riley (182-93, college: E.Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 50 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Grantas Vasiliauskas (204-99) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Matas Ragauskas (189-96) replied with 32 points and 5 assists and point guard Gytis Asaciovas (191-0) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for KTU. KTU's coach Arturas Sukovas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Palanga maintains second position with 16-7 record having four points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga, which they share with Vytis. KTU lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Palanga will play against Ezerunas (#12) in Moletai in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KTU will play at home against Gargzdu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
