Very expected game when 11th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (5-10) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-6) 78-53 on Saturday. SG Schwelmer Baskets forced 19 Herzoege Wolfenbuettel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Niklas Geske (188-94) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American guard Erik Durham (193-94, college: Jacksonville St.) chipped in 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. SG Schwelmer Baskets' coach Falk Moeller felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Boo Osborne (190-95, college: Ashland) who recorded 13 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and Moritz Huebner (200-97) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. SG Schwelmer Baskets moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Bochum and Muenster. Loser Herzoege Wolfenbuettel keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will face Oldenburg (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against Sixers and hope to win that game.
