Regular Season Round 16: Medias - Constanta 77-81

Top ranked Medias (8-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Constanta (5-6) 81-77. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Medias won third quarter 30-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Constanta won last quarter 17-15. Medias were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alin Andries (196-91) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists. American Deondre Ray (196, college: Cameron) contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Constanta's coach Alexandru Olteanu used entire bench in such tough game. The former international Titus Nicoara (203-88, agency: Interperformances) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Kareem Storey (183-92, college: Morehead St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Medias. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Constanta maintains third position with 5-6 record having fifteen points less than leader Voluntari. Medias at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
