An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mattersburg. First ranked Rocks faced their biggest opponent Blackbirds. Host Rocks (11-2) defeated guests from Jennersdorf (9-4) 82-76. Blackbirds were ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 46-34 second half run of Rocks. They outrebounded Blackbirds 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Blackbirds were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of German forward Maximilian Huebner (196-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian center Corey Hallett (210-84, college: Monmouth) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Rocks players scored in double figures. Guard Manuel Jandrasits (185-87) answered with 14 points and 6 assists and international forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) added 14 points in the effort for Blackbirds. Blackbirds' coach Daniel Muellner rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Rocks. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Blackbirds at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Rocks will play against KOS (#10) in Klagenfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blackbirds will play at home against Nord Dragonz (#11) and hope to get back on the winning track.
