Regular Season Round 13: BBU S. - Deutsch-Wagram 84-74

Bottom-ranked Deutsch-Wagram (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-74 loss to ninth ranked BBU (6-7) in Salzburg on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by BBU. Deutsch-Wagram managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BBU shot 26 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Deutsch-Wagram only scored nine points from the stripe. BBU forced 20 Deutsch-Wagram turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Slovenian forward Luka Milovac (192-94) stepped up and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-91) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five BBU players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Marko Goranovic (202-0) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Elias Wlasak (190-0) scored 12 points. Deutsch-Wagram's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BBU moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Flames and Mustangs. Deutsch-Wagram lost their thirteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 13 games lost. BBU will meet higher ranked UBC St. Polten (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Deutsch-Wagram will play against Mustangs (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
