Regular Season Round 16: Agronomia Buc. - Targu Jiu 66-78

Everything went according to plan in Bucuresti where fourth ranked Targu Jiu (11-5) won against 8th ranked Agronomia Buc. (4-11) 78-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Targu Jiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American center Kevin Allen (211, college: Emporia St.) fired a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 26 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Forward Adrian Rosu (198-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Filip Macavei (190-0) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Gheorghe Balmus (180-92) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Targu Jiu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Agronomia Buc. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Targu Jiu will face Focsani (#5) at home in the next round. Agronomia Buc. will play against Miercurea Ciuc and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
