No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Tarsus (6-8) beat 8th ranked Arel Univ (3-11) in Istanbul 70-62 on Sunday. Tarsus forced 22 Arel Univ turnovers. Strangely Arel Univ outrebounded Tarsus 56-39 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Faik Kasikci (-0) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Murat Guzelocak (-1) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Saruhan Cakir (-1) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Aydin Tayfur (-0) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Arel Univ. Arel Univ's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tarsus maintains sixth position with 6-8 record. Loser Arel Univ keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Tarsus will face Afyon (#9) in the next round. Arel Univ's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Fenerbahce.
