Regular Season Round 16: Banvit - TED Ankara 70-78

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Banvit (13-1) against fourth ranked TED Ankara (9-6) on Sunday night. Host Banvit was defeated by TED Ankara in a tough game at home 70-78. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Banvit. The winners were led by guard Emir Buyukhanli (197-1) who scored that evening 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and center Cihat Dalgali (205-1) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. TED Ankara's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds by power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) did not help to save the game for Banvit. Atakan Erdek (192-1) added 22 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TED Ankara maintains fourth position with 9-6 record. Banvit at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce. TED Ankara will meet at home Gaziantep (#7) in the next round. Banvit will play against the league's second-placed Darussafaka (#2) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
