Regular Season Round 9: Stevnsgade - Amager 66-69

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Dameligaen took place in Stevnsgade. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Stevnsgade (3-6) to third ranked Amager (6-3) 69-66 on Tuesday evening. Amager made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Amager outrebounded Stevnsgade 50-35 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 24 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Samoan Geraldynn Leaupepe (-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Forward Mathilde Colding-Poulsen (176-95) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Stevnsgade. Amager moved-up to second place, which they share with Aabyhoj. Stevnsgade lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Amager is looking forward to face Herlev (#5) on the road in the next round. Stevnsgade will play against the league's second-placed Aabyhoj and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
