Regular Season Round 11: Septemvri 97 - NSA 82-68

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sofia: Septemvri 97 (#4) and NSA (#8). Septemvri 97 (6-5) won against visiting NSA (1-9) 82-68. Septemvri 97 forced 23 NSA turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Iliana Georgieva (183-3) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Ivona Ilieva (180-98) chipped in 27 points, 8 assists and 7 steals (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Septemvri 97's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Maria Svetoslavova (179-93) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Maria Gencheva (185-99) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four NSA players scored in double figures. Septemvri 97 moved-up to third place, which they share with Lokomotiv St. Z. NSA lost their seventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Septemvri 97 will meet league's second-placed Montana 2003 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. NSA's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Slavia.
