NBL top team - Montana 2003 (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Academic PL (2-8) in Plovdiv 106-53. Montana 2003 dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Academic PL's 44. They outrebounded Academic PL 53-29 including a 42-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montana 2003 players were unselfish on offense dishing 40 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Academic PL's players. Guard Gabriela Anguelova (175-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center Preslava Koleva (191-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Montana 2003 players scored in double figures. Coach Stefan Mihaylov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Angelina Dryankova (172-0) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Desislava Hilendarova (180-96) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Academic PL. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Montana 2003. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Beroe. Newly promoted Academic PL dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Montana 2003's next round opponent will be Septemvri 97 (#4) in Sofia. Academic PL will play on the road against Champion 2006 in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
