The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Neptunas-Akv.'s (14-11) road loss to fourth ranked Telsiai (15-9) in Telsiu 64-88 on Friday. Telsiai dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas-Akv.'s 28 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international center Tomas Rimsa (208-96) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) accounted for 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Guard Erikas Kubilius (194-95) came up with 15 points and forward Nojus Mineikis (200-0) added 10 points respectively for Neptunas-Akv. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telsiai maintains fourth place with 15-9 record. Loser Neptunas-Akv. keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Delikatesas and Perlas. Telsiai will meet Zalgiris II (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas-Akv. will play against the league's second-placed Palanga (#2) and hope to secure a win.
