Regular Season Round 8: Kyiv Basket - Rivne 81-55

There was no surprise when 6th ranked BK Rivne (7-9) was crushed on the road by second ranked Kyiv Basket (11-2) 81-55. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by the former international swingman Viktoriya Kondus (176-97) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and center Veronika Liubinets (188-99) supported her with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) did not help to save the game for BK Rivne. Forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (180-84) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyiv Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-2 record behind leader Dynamo-NPU. BK Rivne lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Kyiv Basket's next round opponent will be Frankivsk (#3) in Ivano-Frankivsk, which may be the game of the day. BK Rivne will play at home against Vinnystkiye M. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
