Regular Season Round 18: Walter Tigers - Rostock 83-84

A very interesting game took place in Tuebingen. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 14th ranked Walter Tigers (7-11) to fourth ranked Rostock (11-7) 84-83 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Rostock shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Walter Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a good game for guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville) who saved his team from a defeat with 19 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Reed Timmer (185-95, college: Drake) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for Walter Tigers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rostock have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Heidelberg. Walter Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Rostock's next round opponent will be Schalke (#12) at home and are hoping to win another game. Walter Tigers will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg and hope to win that game.
