Regular Season Round 15: Triglav - Jezica 103-60

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kranj. Second ranked Triglav faced 4th placed Jezica. Host Triglav (12-2) smashed guests from Ljubljana (8-7) 103-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jezica. The game was mostly controlled by Triglav. Jezica managed to win third quarter 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jezica's 20 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jezica 42-25 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Triglav shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Jezica's players. The best player for the winners was guard Urska Zibert (174-93) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Center Lara Bubnic (173-99) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Sara Meden (171-94) who recorded 7 points and 6 assists and center Katarina Geric (188-98) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Triglav maintains second place with 12-2 record having just two points less than leader Celje. Jezica at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Triglav are looking forward to face Konjice (#6) on the road in the next round. Jezica will play against the league's leader Celje and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
