Regular Season Round 16: Wusterhausen - Wolmirstedt 63-65

Seventh-ranked WSG Koenigs (8-8) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Wolmirstedt (14-2) in Wildau on Saturday. The visitors from Wolmirstedt managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Wolmirstedt's coach Ralf Rehberger used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Christoph Tetzner (201-81) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) added 22 points in the effort for WSG Koenigs. Wolmirstedt have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wolmirstedt maintains first position in North with 14-2 record. WSG Koenigs at the other side keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Wolmirstedt are looking forward to face Cuxhaven (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. WSG Koenigs will play against the league's second-placed RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
