Regular Season Round 18: Neptunas - P.Zvaigzdes 77-80

The most exciting game of round 18 in the LKL took place in Klaipeda. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Neptunas (14-4) to fifth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (9-9) 80-77 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 31-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. P.Zvaigzdes made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Neptunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 7 assists. Dutch guard Yannick Franke (194-96, agency: Court Side) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. The former international guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) replied with 21 points and guard Paulius Dambrauskas (195-91, agency: Players Group) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. P.Zvaigzdes maintains fifth position with 9-9 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Rytas. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round. Neptunas will play at home against Prienu Skycop (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
