NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (21-5) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Taurages (11-16) in Marijampole 82-78. Suduva-Mantinga shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Antanas Bertasius (205-94) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Zygimantas Simonis (192-95) chipped in 17 points. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (201-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) added 14 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side. Five Suduva-Mantinga and four Taurages players scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga maintains first position with 21-5 record. Taurages lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home Palanga (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taurages will have a break next round.
