Regular Season Round 18: Siauliai - Rytas 75-82

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rytas (14-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Siauliai (3-15) 82-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-22. But Siauliai won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rytas made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Rytas outrebounded Siauliai 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Artsiom Parakhouski (212-87, college: Radford) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 18 points. Four Rytas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Ignas Vaitkus (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 15 points and 6 assists and guard Evaldas Saulys (190-93) added 17 points respectively. Siauliai's coach Antanas Sireika rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rytas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Neptunas. Siauliai at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Rytas' next round opponent will be Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys. Siauliai will play on the road against Juventus (#6) in Utena and hope to win that game.
