Regular Season Round 16: TSV Troester - Herzogenaurach 59-63

Very important is a home loss of third ranked TSV Troester (9-5) against fifth ranked Herzogenaurach (8-6) on Saturday night. Host TSV Troester was defeated by Herzogenaurach in a tough game in Breitenguessbach 59-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of TSV Troester. Strangely TSV Troester outrebounded Herzogenaurach 46-34 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American guard Larry Hall (190-83, college: W.Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Patrick Horstmann (201-87, college: Keiser) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Center Erik Land (205-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Lucas Wagner (200-94) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for TSV Troester. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Herzogenaurach moved-up to fourth place in South-East, which they share with Treuchtlingen. Loser TSV Troester keeps the third position with five games lost. Herzogenaurach will face league's leader Topstar in Diedorf in the next round and it may be the game of the week. TSV Troester will play on the road against Muenchen OSB and hope to win that game.
